In May of 2019, Garrett was spending time in one of his best friend's dorm rooms, getting ready to head back home to Allen, Texas, for the summer. Meanwhile, Hannah had just returned from dinner with a friend celebrating the end of their first year at Baylor. Before going back to their own rooms, the girls decided to stop by the room across the hall to say hello. Little did they know, this spontaneous visit would change everything. When Hannah walked in, there was Garrett. After a quick introduction and a friendly wave, neither of them could have guessed that this brief encounter would be the beginning of their story.

Garrett and Hannah quickly became best friends during their time at Baylor. From cheering on the Baylor Bears at football games to late-night hangouts with friends, they were inseparable. Whether it was study sessions in the library or attending music festivals, they seemed to be together every chance they got. As their friendship grew, both began to wonder what life would be like as more than just friends. By the end of their second year of friendship, it became clear that their connection was something special. In November 2021, Garrett decided it was time to turn those thoughts into reality. Choosing the scenic Lover's Leap in Cameron Park, he asked Hannah to be his girlfriend. Hannah happily said yes, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their journey.

As their time at Baylor came to a close, Garrett moved to New York City for Law School, while Hannah stayed in Waco, pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. Despite the distance, they were always counting down the days until their next visit, filling the time with hours-long FaceTime and phone calls. While in New York, they made the most of their time together—apple picking, dinners in the city, concerts across the state, and creating new memories. This chapter of their journey will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

After a year of living over 1,600 miles apart, their long-distance chapter (finally) came to an end. While New York was full of adventure, Garrett was ready to return home to Hannah. They made a big decision—Garrett moved back to Waco to pursue his MBA in Healthcare Administration at Baylor University; the two couldn't be happier to finally be back in Waco together. No more 5 a.m. flights from LaGuardia… woohoo!

Once Garrett returned to Waco, the two knew they were ready to begin their next chapter together. On April 5, 2024, Garrett decided it was time to take the next big step. Hannah was in Austin, thinking she was there to help with her sister’s graduation photos. But as she turned the corner at Laguna Gloria, she was completely surprised to find Garrett waiting for her—ring in hand, filled with excitement and love. Through happy tears, Hannah said yes! After the proposal, they set off to Marfa, Texas, for a relaxing weekend getaway, where they spent time reminiscing about all the special moments they’ve shared since their first meeting in May 2019.

Since that day, the two have spent the past months eagerly awaiting March 15, 2025. When it came time to choose a location for their wedding, they knew without a doubt that Waco was the perfect place—a place filled with cherished memories and surrounded by the people who have been with them from the very start. Now, with wedding plans in full swing, they are excitedly looking forward to the next chapter of their story, knowing that the best is yet to come.
